A4Tech iChat Headset
I recently have been given a good reason to sign up for Skype. Having no expertise on computer/PC peripherals, I asked via Plurk for suggestions for a good quality, portable, but affordable headset I can use mainly for Skype-ing purposes. A lot of people suggested I buy an A4Tech headset. This is the brand that the Pakbet Podcasters use, recommend, and even offer as a prize for their online contest.
Having owned an A4Tech earbud, which was affordable, I headed to Digital Interface at a local mall and searched for a good A4Tech headset. I was presented with 3 options, I chose the smallest, most lightweight, and cheapest model: the A4Tech iChat Headset (HS-6). It costs only P295, way below my budget of P1,000. Based on the A4Tech website, a ComfortFit Stereo Headset (HS-26) would have been a better option being more lightweight. But it wasn’t available so I had to settle for an HS-6. Based on it’s packaging, it has a noise-canceling microphone and its “dynamic microphone ensures excellent speech transmission.” Hmmm…. wonder if it’s true.
Haven’t tested it yet, but maybe will do later or tomorrow. I hope it doesn’t disappoint. Sayang din ang P295 noh! Do you have an A4Tech headset? Or can you recommend a better brand or model?
Plantronics hehehe
Woohoo may special mention pa!
I have the HS-26 here at work, lightweight nga. Honestly, its just a notch or two above compared to cdr-king in terms of build, but I do know a call center which runs a multinational business using VOIP, using A4Tech headsets. Hence, my test purchase, which I’m using in “production” now.
The A4Tech headset I use at home I’ve also used at my previous music podcasts. Ang kulang na lang for optimum recording/VOIP experience is tweaking your OS and software sound settings
Whoever invited this headphones model is an idiot. It never fits ANY head, nor can you lock the zippers (to adjust its size) and what’s worse, the ear-pads NEVER fit the ears, doesn’t matter what position you use them. The only good thing about these headphones is that it emphasizes Bass. Good game A4Tech…
Now I can’t even return these headphones to the store…
The noise cancelling for A-4 tech H-6 headset is not working.
